Amy Forsythe has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Amy Forsythe is recognized for her dedicated career as a public affairs officer for the U.S. Military



    FALLBROOK, CA, November 09, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy Forsythe has been included in 2023 Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

With more than three decades of excellence in military service, public affairs and journalism, Ms. Forsythe has earned distinction as a public affairs officer in the U. S. Navy Reserve. Since 2010, she has focused her efforts on overseeing all communication initiatives and serving as an advisor and spokesperson for the Department of Defense at various departments and locations around the world.

Ms. Forsythe is also a journalist, inspirational speaker and author of "Heroes Live Here: A Tribute to Camp Pendleton Marines Since 9/11." She's also been an anchor and producer for KOCT - Oceanside Community Television since 1999 and a content writer for Medium since 2015, writing on leadership, veteran entrepreneurship, military affairs and other personal reflections.

She lends her media expertise as a managing director at Victory Strategies and the host of The Victory Podcast that focuses on 'life, leadership and journey.' She is also a contributing host for The American Legion's Tango Alpha Lima podcast with the focus on preventing veteran suicide and enriching the lives of our veterans and their families.

Ms. Forsythe is also dedicated to community service by representing Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton at the Visit Oceanside Conference and Visitors Bureau Board of Directors and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial in La Jolla, California.

Before assuming her present role, Ms. Forsythe served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Combat Correspondent from 1993 until 2010. Her first duty assignment was as a radio and television producer for the Naval Broadcasting Service at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in 1994 and covered Operations Sea Signal, an operation in the Caribbean in response to an influx of Cuban and Haitian migrants attempting to gain asylum in the United States.

She went on to serve as a public affairs and broadcasting instructor for the prestigious Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland, in 2003. Following this time, she became an adjunct professor and media coordinator for California International Business University in 2010 teaching in the areas of organizational development, media studies and lifestyle marketing.

In her capacity as a public affairs officer, Ms. Forsythe served in Iraq in 2006 and 2008 during the height of combat operations. She also worked with NATO, the International Security Assistance Force, Regional Command North in Afghanistan at the NATO Base at Camp Marmal in Afghanistan in 2013. She then transitioned to a similar role with the Navy's Pacific Fleet in 2013 and became a public affairs officer for the Special Operations Joint Task Force Afghanistan at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan in 2018.

She served as the public affairs officer and for Task Force-75 on the island of Guam from 2016 until 2019. Meanwhile, she was the chief of the Regional Media Bureau in Guam for Defense Media Activity covering large scale military exercises and events around the Indo-Pacific region from 2015 until 2020. Ms. Forsythe has been on assignment in several other countries including: Singapore, Malaysia, Palau, Sri Lanka, Germany, Romania, Poland and Niger.

Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Forsythe has garnered numerous awards for her coverage while deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, with her reporting recognized for their historical records, research materials and documentary references, featuring prominently on esteemed platforms like CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel and other cable news outlets.

She was inducted to the San Diego County's Women's Hall of Fame in the Historian Category in 2023 for her many years of spotlighting service members and their families, spanning domestic and international contexts, and underscoring their unwavering courage. She also was named by Success Magazine as one of the Top 50 Women of Influence in 2022, sharing this honor with esteemed figures like Venus Williams and other notable icons in the realms of sports and politics. She was named as San Diego Business Journal's 2023 Top 50 Veteran Business Leaders of Influence for her volunteer efforts within the military and veteran communities.

In recognition of her dedicated work for the United States military, Ms. Forsythe was honored with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal from the Navy Broadcasting Detachment in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 1994 and received a Navy Commendation Medal from the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force in 2007. She also received a Meritorious Service Medal in 2008, an Army Achievement Medal in 2009, a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in 2010 and a NATO Medal Non-Article 5 Campaign in 2013. That year, she also was presented with a Joint Service Commendation Medal by NATO, the ISAF Regional Command North and Deputy Commander U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. John Bullard.

Ms. Forsythe holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication from California State University at San Marcos (2005) and a Master of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego Knauss School of Business (2009). Additionally, she holds a certificate in Global Business Strategy from the University of San Diego and is certified in crisis, emergency and disaster management by the United States Naval War College. She's also a fellow of the Asia Pacific orientation course of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies, among other credentials. In 2021, she completed the Next Step Program and Certification Course at Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business for elite athletes and military transitioning to a private sector career.

Looking to the future, Ms. Forsythe intends to continue making a positive impact on others, actively forging connections with people and encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones and discover genuine fulfillment.
