Drawing on over five years of expertise, Ms. Johnson specializes in governmental science, special operations engineering, and facility software and systems management. Since 2023, she has found much success as an advisory consultant at Deloitte. In this capacity, she is responsible for infrastructure and capital projects via artificial intelligence, asset and facility management, software and data analytics and visualization, and operational analysis, process flows and improvement. Additionally, she works with the United States Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations and manages their policies, strategies, and facility software and systems. Ms. Johnson initially began her career serving as a management engineering fellow at Michigan Medicine from 2016 to 2017, followed by a post of a project engineer at the Lendlease Corporation from 2018 until 2023.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Johnson pursued an education at the University of Michigan, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering in 2016. She continued her academic efforts at The Catholic University of America, earning a Master of Architecture in facilities planning and management in 2018. As a commitment to her field, she has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the International Facility Management Association, the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers and the Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Johnson contributes to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Among her vocational accomplishments, Ms. Johnson is most proud of her work in her specialty, particularly in asset management and facility assessments of the museums in Washington, DC. Additionally, she is gratified to have contributed to the Smithsonian and the University of Michigan's hospital systems, where she was involved in improvement projects with the acute nursing transportation team on the moving processes of highly critical patients into operating rooms. Reflecting on her career, she attributes much of her success to the support of her mentors, especially her coach, her graduate school advisor and her mother, who inspired her to succeed as a woman and a professional. Looking toward the future, Ms. Johnson aspires to advance to the post of a senior consultant or manager, and hopes to expand the scope of her knowledge and skills in facility management, artificial intelligence, team leadership and proposal writing.
