The demanding role of caregiving unveiled to Nicole the unique possibilities that entrepreneurship could offer – flexibility, autonomy, and the rare opportunity to create something profoundly impactful. RIZE Consultants was brought to life out of an earnest desire to channel Nicole's consulting expertise and experience into building something meaningful, with a significant impact on public health. Alongside her work with RIZE, Ms. Augustine is a regional director of the Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center (SPTAC), and a consultant to the Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) and the Opioid Response Network (ORN).
Before embarking on her current professional journey, Ms. Augustine honed her skills in substance use disorder prevention in executive roles with Addiction Professionals of North Carolina and Wake Forest University's School of Medicine's NC Behavioral Health Equity Initiative. During the early stages of her career, she gained valuable expertise in diversity and inclusion initiatives, cultural humility, and more with well-known educational institutions, consultancies, and healthcare centers. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Augustine maintains certifications as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) and certified Prevention Specialist (PS).
An expert in her field, Ms. Augustine earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Cornell University in 2004. Subsequently, she expanded upon her professional knowledge by completing a Master of Public Health in community oriented primary care from George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health in 2009. In her quest to hone her public speaking skills, she has maintained an active membership with Goldmine Toastmasters, Club 241, since April 2019.
With her extensive expertise, one of the highlights of her career thus far, authoring the "Prevention Specialist Exam Study Guide, 1st Edition", released August 2022. The cornerstone of her success lies with her grandmother, who instilled in her a strong work ethic, determination, and perseverance. Looking back, Ms. Augustine received a similar accolade of "Who's Who Among American High School Students 1998/1999" (33rd Edition, Vol. XI, Edmond North High School, Edmond, OK). Looking ahead, she is excited to experience continued growth and success. Ultimately, Ms. Augustine aims to see RIZE Consultants become a multi-million dollar public health organization revolutionizing the business of prevention, inspiring innovation, and disrupting the status quo.
