Hailing from a diverse background in construction and engineering, Mr. Tracy initially found success as a startup engineer for various construction companies, during which time he was involved in projects with such prominent companies as General Motors. Over the span of two decades, he built a wide range of experience managing wastewater and water engineering projects.
Since 1998, Mr. Tracy has pivoted to consultation work, offering his valuable expertise in the areas of field engineering and project management for more than 25 years. In this capacity, his daily responsibilities involve bid preparation, contract analysis and communicating with potential clients, whom he acquires primarily through networking and referrals. Specializing in the design and construction of nuclear and fossil fuel power plants and treatment facilities, Mr. Tracy has worked with clients across a wide range of sectors, including Westinghouse, General Electric, Chrysler, Anheuser Busch, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Arizona Public Service Company, to name only a few.
Mr. Tracy first studied at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1968. Following this accomplishment, he went on to receive a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, with a focus on environmental science, at the Ohio State University in 1971. Years later, he completed his academic efforts at the University of Detroit Mercy, where he graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1988. Bearing a great talent for the areas of environmental law and contract negotiation, Mr. Tracy was also licensed as a patent attorney in 1998, and has gone on to engage in legal work on a pro bono basis.
Adjacent to his educational journey, Mr. Tracy served overseas as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Deployed with the 101st Airborne Division, his valor in the line of duty saw him earn a Combat Infantry Badge in 1969 and a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry in 1975.
In a career suffused with highlights, Mr. Tracy is particularly proud to have worked at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station in Phoenix, Arizona. The project, which involved the construction of an advanced waste treatment facility and a pipeline to supply three commercial reactors, ran to over $800 million in costs. Drawing motivation from his personal motto, "keep going," Mr. Tracy credits much of his success to his perseverance and resilience. Looking toward the future, he aspires to arrive at the end of his career path in an exemplary professional role, having already achieved many of his goals in both the field of military service and in engineering.
