With nearly 15 years of excellence in outdoor living design, Ms. Smith has earned distinction as the owner of Casa Smith Designs. Since 2009, she has focused her efforts on designing outdoor living spaces that meet clients design objectives including sourcing products for outdoor furniture and accessories, water features and pottery. Among her professional accomplishments, she is proud to have won Best of Houzz for both Service and Design and the People's Choice for HGTV's Ultimate Outdoor Awards for both Outdoor Oasis and Curb Appeal categories in 2017, 2018 and 2021.
Prior to establishing her company, Ms. Smith began her career as a direct marketing coordinator for Intuit in 1992 and became a direct marketing program manager for Adobe Systems in 1997. Following this time, she was a senior director marketing manager for RealNames in 1999 and took a similar role with Microsoft the next year. She continued her career as a senior brand experience marketing manager for Yahoo in 2003. She subsequently worked as the director of marketing for Andale in 2005 and for Goodmail Systems in 2006.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Smith studied business management at Lane Community College from 1987 until 1989. She is also a valued member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Also dedicated to civil advocacy, she is a regular donor for the Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity and the Peninsula Open Space Trust.
Throughout her career in the technology sector, Ms. Smith engaged in landscape design as a hobby, deciding to pursue it professionally at the encouragement of others who were impressed by her work. Inspired by her mother, who was an avid gardener, she traveled the world and explored various gardens. Looking to the future, Ms. Smith intends to expand her company in Oregon, further growing her reputation and venturing into product development.
