A dedicated master carpenter, Mr. Foster has earned distinction as a carpentry instructor with the Department of Education. Since 2016, he has focused his efforts on teaching incarcerated students and adults carpentry. He has also signed operations with trade schools and is now on their umbrella policy to give over 30 license certifications. He also held the position as a delegate, Trial Committee member and volunteer organizing for local 926 Carpenters. Among his professional accomplishments, he was honored with a Flag Award for Teaching Excellence, Big Apple nominee for the Department of Education, and an Award of Recognition from the Department of Corrections.
Prior to his private career, Mr. Foster served honorably in the United States Army, earning a Marksman Medal for his outstanding skills. Eminently qualified in his field, he is a certified journeyman and master carpenter. He is also an authorized OSHA instructor by the Great Lakes OSHA Education Center and a valued member of the New York City District Council of Carpenters.
Looking to the future, Mr. Foster intends to expand into other schools to teach other teachers how to do implement his program, recruit the students into the Carpenter's Union and keep the Level Up program in place. He is most proud to see his students achieve employment opportunities with the Carpenters Union, and excel beautifully in secure full-time positions.
