Cascadian Zen Launch Events to be Hosted Throughout Cascadian Bioregion

Join Cascadia Poetics Lab in discussion and celebration of the release of their poetry and art collection Cascadian Zen Vol. I!



The work in the anthology connects the mission of Cascadia Poetics Lab by exploring the nature of the Cascadia bioregion, Zen practice and the many questions that follow these topics.

    SEATTLE, WA, December 05, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seattle-based poetry nonprofit Cascadia Poetics Lab anticipates multiple celebrations throughout the Cascadia bioregion to celebrate the release of their poetry anthology Cascadian Zen Vol. I, published by Watershed Press. The current calendar of Cascadian Zen launch events is as follows: Elliott Bay Book Company in Seattle, WA on December 4, 2023; Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA on December 7; Winekraft Wine Bar in Astoria, OR on December 8; Time Enough Books in Ilwaco, WA on December 9. All of these events are open to the public!

Cascadia Poetics Lab aims to empower people to practice poetry and deepen connections to place, self and the present moment. It is the belief of the organization that self-knowledge, bioregionalism and expansive creativity converges through poetry, and they follow this mission by hosting workshops and poetry festivals to expose participants to community, education and transformation through poetry. Cascadian Zen Vol. I, published through Cascadia Poetics Lab's publisher Watershed Press, is an anthology featuring work from distinguished artists and authors throughout the bioregion. The work in the anthology connects the mission of Cascadia Poetics Lab by exploring the nature of the Cascadia bioregion, Zen practice and the many questions that follow these topics.

Presenting at the launch events will be Cascadian Zen editors Paul Nelson, Adelia MacWilliam and Dr. Jason Wirth. They will also be joined by Dr. Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs at the Elliott Bay Book Company event. Paul Nelson is a published poet, interviewer and the founder of Cascadia Poetics Lab. Adelia MacWilliam is a published poet and Founding Editor of Watershed Press. Dr. Jason Wirth is a professor of Philosophy at Seattle University, a published author and Founding Editor of Watershed Press. Dr. Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs is a published poet, editor and professor of Modern Languages and Cultures and Women, Gender and Sexuality studies at Seattle University.
