Prior to serving in his current position, he studied computer science in the United Kingdom, which led him to pursue a career in technology. As he began the early stages of his career in technology and finance, he witnessed and contributed to the evolution of these industries as he gained experience holding various senior executive positions in major industries, such as industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, distribution, financial services, and more.
While working toward a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wolverhampton, Mr. Parker started at VocaLink as a senior project manager. Over the course of nearly a decade he excelled in several managerial positions in that financial institution, and went on to hold the role of vice president at Flexi, an international software company. In 2000, he joined the senior executive team for Aleri and then moved from London to the New York City area to spearhead the international operations, and contributed to the growth of the company for a decade.
Through the company's subsequent acquisitions by Sybase and then SAP in 2010, Mr. Parker continued to apply himself and his leadership offerings in the role of vice president and thereafter as the senior global vice president. After over five years in upper-level positions, he moved to IBM and took on the role of partner for the internet of things. In 2017, he joined a startup, ParkourSC Inc., as the chief revenue officer and several years later became the chief evangelist, before stepping into his current role in 2023 at Culture Shift Labs, where he focuses on the sales, marketing, services, and operations of the company.
To date, in all the fields and geographies in which he has worked, Mr. Parker cites his most significant accomplishment in the field of trading, as he was one of the early pioneers who moved from analog to electronic trading. In 2001, he was part of a team that developed a groundbreaking software, supported by a European bank, which served as a catalyst to introduce the software to other banks in the U.K., Europe, and, ultimately, the U.S., where it is still used today.
