Ms. Zinsmeyer is recognized for her dedication to the photography profession, where she specializes in photographing pregnant mothers, babies, and children, and producing special compositional artwork pieces. Through her company, Images by Echo Photography, which she founded in 2009, she enjoys working closely with families to create lasting memories of expectant mothers and their beautiful babies. Ms. Zinsmeyer has achieved many awards as the Best of Bastrop from 2016-2023. Some of her favorite projects have included collaborations with pregnancy centers and foster care groups, where she photographed newborns who were rescued from bad circumstances as well as participated in a book project about a Florida family with four adopted sons who she had the honor to photograph for many years. She was also listed many times in numerous magazines for her artistry designs in children with creative digital art.
In 2009, Ms. Zinsmeyer was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis. Severely unwell and bed-ridden for much of the time from 2009 to 2016, she used photography as an outlet to push through and to explore education as well as the world in her artistry. As her family was low-income, she could not afford to go to college; instead, she learned her trade by attending free seminars, online learning opportunities as well as being self-taught thought her hard work and determination. Her trials and tribulations turned into her growth as she prevailed with a positive attitude and outlook. The one important thing to her in this time of her life was her loving husband, who pushed her the hardest to reach her career goals. A quote she expressed, "If you're not growing, you're dying," lived with her and guided her to become who she is today. It pushed her to find her calling in newborn photography.
Ms. Zinsmeyer was forced to overcome additional tragedies. Shortly after giving birth to her daughter, she lost both her home and her business in 2011 a week before the wildfires that wreaked havoc on the area of Bastrop, Texas; in the process of pulling her children from a burning home, she suffered burns on her back and legs. With the $10,000 insurance payout her family received, Ms. Zinsmeyer purchased lumber to build a 300-square-foot studio and constructed a photography workspace alongside her husband and other wonderful friends and family members. This proved to be an excellent starter home for her business, though she has since expanded to a 1,200-square-foot studio now where she has ample space to conduct her photography sessions.
Dedicated to supporting other local artists, Ms. Zinsmeyer enjoys hosting workshops and teaching other Texas photographers how to photograph babies, and do so safely in the studio. As her business continues to grow, she hopes to expand her work to large cities and to embark on travel-based photography projects where she can continue to grow and do what she loves.
