Mr. Sarabia is a psychological science professor who has taught at his alma mater, South Texas College (STC), since 2011.

Mr. Sarabia is a psychological science professor who has taught at his alma mater, South Texas College (STC), in Rio Grande City, Texas, since 2011. Promoted from an adjunct psychology instructor after one year, he now teaches seven to eight courses per semester, including General Psychology, Learning Frameworks, Social Psychology, and Human Sexuality. Mr. Sarabia also worked at the STC Center for Learning Excellence as an assistant supervisor between 2009 and 2011 and as a certified master tutor from 2006 to 2009.
Besides his primary responsibilities as a professor, Mr. Sarabia has been the psychology club co-advisor on the STC Starr County campus since 2009. In this capacity, he is involved in recruiting students to become members, evaluating club officers, organizing and hosting fundraisers and other events, and volunteering for campus and community events.
Aside from being a professor, Mr. Sarabia was in the field as a licensed professional counselor at the Renaissance Behavioral Hospital in Edinburg, Texas, from 2012 to 2015 and at the Abundant Grace Counseling Center in Edinburg between 2012 and 2013. Additionally, he has served as the host and executive producer of the YouTube show, "RGV Stars" since 2020.
As an expert in psychological science, clinical psychology, and education, Mr. Sarabia often is invited as an expert guest on TV and radio shows and podcasts. He has also presented before professional groups numerous times.
Highly educated, Mr. Sarabia graduated from Roma High School as valedictorian of his senior class in 2006 and Top Graduate at the university with 4.0 GPA. He received an Associate of Arts degree in psychology from STC in 2007, a bachelor's degree in psychology, a bachelor's degree in sociology, from the University of Texas-Pan American in 2009, and a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Texas-Pan American (now University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) in 2011. In addition, Mr. Sarabia received credentials as a licensed professional counselor, licensed chemical dependency counselor, certified anger resolution therapist, and certified laughter yoga leader.
Mr. Sarabia is affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association, the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, and the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals. Recognizing his professional accomplishments, he was proud to be named the Faculty of the Year by STC in 2023. He was also honored to receive a Distinguished Learning and Teaching Award from STC in 2021 and was named the OMGRGV Rio Grande Valley Personality of the Month in 2021. Among other accolades, Mr. Sarabia has received the NISOD Excellence Award and at STC has also received the Community Service Recognition Award, Exceptional Faculty Award, and (4) Faculty Spotlight Awards, to name a few.
