Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in the mortgage and loan industry, Ms. McKenzie has earned distinction as a production manager and mortgage loan originator with First Community Mortgage. Having been in the business since 2003 on the processing side, she has focused her efforts on assisting first-time home buyers, offering a range of down payment assistance and first-time home buyer programs to those who are not able to gather the entire down payment amount for their home. Ms. McKenzie lends her expertise as a member of the Women's Council of Realtors of Northwest Indiana where she serves on events committee. She also serves on the advisory board for the Valparaiso University Women in Leadership, and is a member of the Portage Area Chamber of Commerce. She donates to her local Humane Society as well as Habitat for Humanity, and has sponsored a K-9 for the Portage Police Department.
Ms. McKenzie began her career in sales in 2005 as a Team Loan Originator under Barb Tithof with Countrywide Home Loans, later renamed PrimeLending in 2010 when she was promoted to a loan originator and took over in 2021 when Ms. Tithof retired. To prepare for her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Valparaiso University in 2004.
Within the coming years, Ms. McKenzie intends to expand her team and particularly hire those who can speak Spanish fluently to better serve clients coming from the Chicago area. Accounting for her success, she credits the wealth of experience she has gained from her career, having worked both sides of the business coming from processing and then moving to origination and sales.
