Although she was originally intent on pursuing a career in ballet, Dr. Tripp found through her studies that she did not have the same passion for dance that she once felt. After suffering a knee injury that required surgery, she needed to reevaluate her career path and decided to pursue healthcare, becoming an emergency medical technician-paramedic through South Technical School and earning an associate degree in nursing from Palm Beach Community College. Upon graduating, Dr. Tripp started working as a critical care registered nurse, a role she maintains to this day.
Alongside her work as a critical care registered nurse, Dr. Tripp excels as a member of the nursing faculty at Tillamook Bay Community College and Mount Hood Community College. As an educator, she prepares course content, and accompanies students into clinical environments to monitor their progress to help them connect theory to clinical practice. Additionally, she helps to create simulation scenarios to help solidify students' knowledge in a safe, controlled environment.
An expert in her field, Dr. Tripp has honed her knowledge of the industry, earning a Master of Science in Nursing specializing in nursing education from Western Governors University, a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Walden University, basic and advanced life support certifications through the American Heart Association, and a critical care registered nursing certification through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in becoming the first in her family to complete her doctoral degree. The cornerstone of her success lies with her parents, who were her biggest inspiration. In the coming years, she aims to help grow and expand a new nursing program and obtain her post-doctorate certificate for Holistic Nursing so that she may bring awareness to the healing power of the individual.
