With nearly two decades of excellence in educational leadership, Dr. Silver has earned distinction as a national education advisor with Panorama Education. She has focused her efforts on helping schools and districts grow both their students and staff by implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, having served districts that were as small as 2000 students and as large as 28,000 students. She also greatly enjoys mentoring and connecting colleagues with resources to help them achieve their professional goals.
Prior to her current position, Dr. Silver began her career as a high school teacher in rural North Carolina and later became a superintendent in Indiana. During the years between, she served for six years in various Curriculum and Instruction roles at the North Carolina Virtual Public School, the second-largest state virtual school in the nation. She continued her career as a director of technology for Hertford County Public Schools in 2016 and as the chief academic officer for Neuse Charter School in 2017. She subsequently worked as the director of curriculum and instruction for New Hanover County Schools in 2021.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Silver has contributed a wealth of articles to professional journals and has done independent consulting and contracting with other entities, such as the Aurora Institute and several higher education institutions. She has also lent her expertise as a presenter for the RTM Education Congress.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Silver earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and pre-medicine from Elizabeth City State University in 2003. Following this achievement and inspired by her mother's passion for leading migrant education programs, she attained a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Scranton in 2007 and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and management from Capella University in 2015. She subsequently gained an Education Specialist in superintendency and educational system administration from Appalachian State University in 2018.
Within the coming years, Dr. Silver intends to broaden her impact by dedicating her career to serving underserved populations on a national level. As part of this, she is publishing a book on managing grief, exploring how it impacts people in underserved communities and showing how it's still possible to thrive in today's society. She also is working towards becoming a grief coach, further expanding her ability to help people overcome the challenges presented by grief.
