Dr. Sejdaras is a licensed clinical psychologist who has dedicated her career to supporting patients' mental and behavioral health. Born in Albania, Dr. Sejdaras developed an early fascination with human behavior and psychology despite the country's then-limited support for and access to mental health care. After relocating to the United States as a teenager to avoid civil unrest, Dr. Sejdaras studied at Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor of Social Work in 2004 and a Master of Social Work in 2005. In 2015, Dr. Sejdaras was awarded a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology by Adler University.
Dr. Sejdaras began her career in the nonprofit sector, seeing patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis as an affiliate of several Detroit-area organizations, where she built a strong foundation in treating substance use disorders, trauma, and related concerns. She continued to work with clients in diverse settings, expanding her practice to work with children and youth in school settings throughout Chicago, in addition to seeing incarcerated clients through the prison system. In 2013, Dr. Sejdaras entered private practice as the president and founder of Sejdaras Psy.D & Associates, a Chicago-based practice where she specializes in anxiety, OCD, and depression in addition to her competencies in supporting LGBTQ patients and clients experiencing work-related stress and life changes. Since its establishment, Sejdaras Psy.D & Associates has grown to include a staff of six, including five providers.
Dr. Sejdaras has been recognized as an emerging leader in her field with accolades including selection for Who's Who in America, and she is active in the American Psychological Association. She credits her success to her compassion and perseverance, and advises others that constant growth and a commitment to overcoming hardships are key to accomplishing their goals.
