SCOTTSDALE, AZ, December 20, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Iris S. N. Takamatsu has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Takamatsu is a Founding Officer, the Vice President, and a member of the Board of Directors at Ad Astra Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Scottsdale, Arizona, since its conceptualization in 2022. In her role, she is involved in various activities driven by the passion of its founders. She is also responsible for preparing the Foundation's monthly financial statements, developing and implementing career and life management training content that caters to the needs of participants, and forging the recruitment of new participants.

Ad Astra Foundation is an organization that supports and mentors women, immigrants, and minorities, particularly young professionals, while fostering an appreciation of diversity. As a colleague of its Founder, Abed Mougharbel, for more than 20 years while working at Medtronic Inc., a leading global healthcare technology company in Tempe, Arizona, Ms. Takamatsu played a significant role in the foundation's creation and success. She finds this work gratifying in the opportunity to be a role model and career advisor for the students and young professionals she mentors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Medical fields.

Passionate about helping others achieve their goals and aspirations, Ms. Takamatsu is eager to continue expanding the foundation's reach by increasing participation and creating opportunities for those in need. She leverages strategic and visionary business leadership skills gained from former experience as an Engineering Executive at multinational corporations, including Motorola, On Semiconductor, and Medtronic Inc., to successfully guide Ad Astra Foundation and its participants.

Besides her work at the nonprofit, Ms. Takamatsu served as a Senior Consultant for Graphite Consulting LLC since 2021. An experienced electrical engineer, she previously spent 35 years in the semiconductor and medical device sectors. She also garnered success as a Senior Manufacturing Operations Director, Product Development Engineering Director, and Global Test Engineering Director at Medtronic Inc. between 2002 and 2019. During her distinguished tenure with this company, which is recognized as one of the most innovative medical device corporations, Ms. Takamatsu was highly influential in developing and manufacturing more efficacious, less invasive implantable medical devices that enhance patients' quality of life.

Before joining Medtronic Inc., she initially gained her technical and early managerial experience at Motorola Inc. and On Semiconductor, advancing to the level of a Product Engineering Director. However, her initial success is rooted in her education, graduating with Honors from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering. While pursuing her degrees, she worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant to support the completion of her Master's Thesis on a microelectronic viscosity sensor and contracted work on a pressure sensor for the Naval Ocean Systems Center.

Throughout Ms. Takamatsu's career, she is known for her authentic leadership and appreciation of diversity in the workplace. Continually committed to the Engineering industry, Ms. Takamatsu remains a lifetime member of the Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society, as well as a professional member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers. In light of her accomplishments, she continues to give back to students and alumni from the University of Hawaii who can benefit from her career experience and professional guidance.
