In this capacity, she oversees admission physicals and conducts 15-20 medical exams per day. Similarly, she is consistently available for medical consultations and trains new employees. Before obtaining her role with Riverside Health, Ms. Faison worked as a nurse at Sentara Obici Hospital for over a decade and a half.
An expert in her field, Ms. Faison earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. Over the years, she also became a family nurse practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and certified in orthopedics through the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing changes in the ever-evolving healthcare industry, Ms. Faison aligns herself with the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Advanced Practice Provider Committee in Riverside.
Ms. Faison received the Nursing Excellence Award for Experienced Nurses from Sentara Obici Hospital in light of her outstanding work. While her career has been filled with standout moments, she is most proud of catering to a highly vulnerable and often overlooked community through her work in the behavioral health sector. The cornerstone of her success lies in her passion for learning and her steadfast desire to master her craft. In the coming years, she intends to complete her psychiatric mental health post-master's degree certificate at Liberty University. Ultimately, Ms. Faison aims to expand her knowledge so that she may provide additional mental health services.
