Born in South Korea, Dr. Hyeryun Chung immigrated to the United States to pursue a formal education in medicine. Attending Stark State College, she first earned an associate degree in 1986. After spending several years in the field, she subsequently attended the New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, New York, receiving a master's degree in Oriental medicine in 2002. During her studies, Dr. Chung founded her own business, Acupuncture & Wellness by Chung, in 2000. She has since served as the owner and acupuncturist, drawing upon her formative exposure to the industry by her grandfather and father-in-law, who were both acupuncturists in Korea.
