With over 45 years of professional experience to his credit, Richard G. Runyon has cultivated a career in the field of biology. Prior to retiring in 2014, he operated with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a senior analyst, investigator and supervisor, having joined the organization in 2000. Prior to joining the FDA, Mr. Runyon operated as a senior scientist within Scientech Inc., from 1989 to 2000. Many of his responsibilities pertained to the handling of hazardous materials, including emergency response, risk assessment and risk management. He also worked as an adjunct assistant professor at Chapman University from 1979 to 1989, and an environmental health specialist, supervisor and manager within Santa Barbara County, California, from 1979 to 1984 and again from 1985 to 1989.
