As part of Mr. Wade's ongoing efforts, he participates in initiatives that support keeping the community clean, such as picking up roadside trash, managing recycling drives, volunteering in nature preserves, and actively engaging in youth education. Aside from his ongoing efforts with Operation Green Team, Mr. Wade has been involved in local politics and re-election campaigns. He has collaborated with Community Development to restore and preserve a landmark previously owned by Historical Black College University founder Dr. William Hoover Council. He was also instrumental in restoring housing for the elderly of Huntsville. Moreover, Mr. Wade is recognized as a Prince Hall Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Prince Hall Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Southern Jurisdiction, and a member of the Prince Hall Shriners of Huntsville.
Mr. Wade attended Huntsville Bible College. He was recognized with many awards considering his work throughout the community; including a Volunteer Bronze Award in 2022, the Silver Presidential Award in 2023, and will receive the Gold Presidential Award for 2024 from President Joe Biden. Among other recognitions, Mr. Wade received the Governor of Alabama Key Ivey Pals Award in 2021, a Governor of Alabama Commendation in 2021, and a Mayor Tommy Battle and Huntsville City Council Honorary Resolution in 2022 & 2017. Also received in 2023, a Certificate of Appreciation from the Meadow Hills Initiative Summer Youth Camp Program; a Meritorious Service Award from Alabama Prince Hall Masons; a Meritorious Service Award from Temple Lodge 98; Certificate of Outstanding Achievement from Vietnam Veterans of America; Knight Commander of The Court of Honor Inductee and a Tennessee Valley Consistory No. 160 Leadership Award.
