Prior to that, she obtained a bachelor's degree in life science, with a minor in chemistry, from The University of Texas Permian Basin in 1984 and an associate's degree from Odessa College in 1982. Her passion for pediatric dentistry was ignited at the age of 15 when she began working for a pediatric dentist during her junior high and high school years.
