While his career has been filled with standout moments, he takes the most pride in the small discoveries he has made that have contributed to the field's growth. Over the past 15 years he has been involved in clinical research in the treatment of chronic pain resulting from chronic muscle spasm. Dr. Coletti has identified the cause for muscles to remain in chronic spasm. He developed a procedure that identifies sites of chronic muscle spasm and an injection procedure that resolves the muscle spasm and resultant chronic pain. Only a single injection is required with long lasting results. Sustained pain relief was achieved without the use of opioid medications. He published a book containing all of his publications to date entitled "Chronic Muscle Spasm and Pain: Discoveries in the Etiology, Identification, and Treatment of Chronic Muscle Spasm and Resultant Chronic Pain." He maintains a physician teaching website CMECD.info to allow easy access to his publications and provide technical and clinical information on the CMECD® procedure he developed. He is actively involved in giving presentations at international medical conferences in person or virtually on the results of his research findings and treatment protocol. Dr. Coletti is retired from active medical practice and makes use of his knowledge of cardiology as a part-time associate of Fasano Associates wherein he reviews medical charts of individuals with cardiac issues to facilitate estimations of life expectancy. This chart review provides him the opportunity to keep abreast of advances in medical practice in all fields of medicine across the country and provide that information to others in the medical field.
An expert in his field, Dr. Coletti holds several degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in government from Georgetown University, a Master of Science in natural sciences from Hofstra University, and an MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Coletti completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Nassau County Medical Center, a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Westchester County Medical Center. He has been granted fellowship and now with Emeritus status in the American College of Cardiology FACC, the Society of Nuclear Cardiology FASNC and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions FSCAI.
