Prior to immigrating to the United States in 1997, Mr. Reshat obtained a Bachelor of Sciences Honours in aerospace engineering from Kingston University in London. Upon graduating, the job openings in his field were few, which led him to join the U.K. government's energy efficiency management program, introduced as an initiative to reduce carbon emissions and recruit engineering graduates, which offered participants the opportunity to obtain a master's degree. In joining the program, Mr. Reshat earned a master's in energy management and conservation from Middlesex University Mauritius, began his career in the industry, and has continued to progress ever since.
For over 25 years, Mr. Reshat has gained experience in the energy engineering sector. Upon moving to the U.S., he started in the role of senior energy engineer for Onsite Energy Corporation. Following several years there, he leveraged his U.K. connections and joined the Johnson Controls U.K. office, where he contributed for nearly five years, first as a senior performance specialist and energy engineer and then as a lead project development engineer. From 2006 to 2009, Mr. Reshat worked for AECOM's power and energy services as a senior energy engineer and went on to use the expertise he gained in that role at Abraxas Energy Consulting for nearly a decade.
In 2017, Mr. Reshat brought his experience to 2RW Consultants Inc., where he worked as a senior project development engineer and field manager. Thereafter, he joined Energy Systems Group before stepping into his current role of senior project developer at ABM Technical Solutions in 2023. To date, Mr. Reshat cites his most notable achievement as obtaining his professional engineer license from the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses in 2023.
Prior to receiving his most recent license, Mr. Reshat became certified by Procore Technologies as a project manager of core tools, received his license as a charted energy engineer by the Energy Institute, and earned certification as an energy manager by the Association of Energy Engineers. As a result of his involvement in the field, he holds membership with the Energy Institute; the Association of Energy Engineers, through which he helped co-author a publication on eight ways a poor-quality energy audit can prove costly for a building owner; and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
In all he has achieved, Mr. Reshat attributes his success to the unwavering support of his family. Over the course of the next five years, he aspires to establish himself as an expert in energy management, energy efficiency, carbon footprint reduction, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and aims to be recognized for his expertise. Once he reaches the peak of his career, Mr. Reshat plans to retire and dedicated his free time to his hobbies of hiking and camping while still devoting a portion of his time to working in the energy field independently.
