Marks & Harrison Announces 2024 Annual Scholarship Contest

    RICHMOND, VA, February 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Richmond personal injury law firm of Marks & Harrison has just announced the opening of entries for its 2024 Annual Scholarship Competition. This year's competition theme focuses on distracted driving.

The firm has seen the devastating toll that distracted driving has on Virginia residents and wants to do something about this dangerous problem. The scholarship contest seeks to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and foster discussions about how to reduce the prevalence of distracted driving while also helping young people pursue higher education.

Marks & Harrison invites contest applicants to submit an essay or video addressing the following topic: "What can we do to prevent driving distractions within the teen community, and how can we promote safe driving among teens?"

The 2024 Annual Scholarship Competition will award $2,000 in scholarship funds split between two prizes. The first-place winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship, and the second-place winner will receive a $500 scholarship. Winners will receive a check from Marks & Harrison made out to their school. Winners must use funds to pay for education-related expenses. They also bear responsibility for any applicable local, state, or federal taxes on scholarship funds.

Applicants must be U.S. residents or students in a U.S.-located school, currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior or in a two- or four-year college or university. Applicants under 18 must provide parental consent to enter.

To enter the competition, applicants must submit either an essay of 600 words or less or a video of two minutes or less. Submissions must include:

- An essay in Word (.doc or .docx) format or a video in .avi or .mp4 format
- A digital photo of the applicant in .jpg or .png format
- A copy of the applicant's school transcript or proof of enrollment
- A cover sheet containing the applicant's name, address, and phone number, the name and address of the applicant's school, a two-to-three-sentence biography, and a parent's/guardian's signature for applicants under 18

The submission window will remain open from January 1, 2024, to May 15, 2024. Marks & Harrison will announce the winners on June 15, 2024. They will notify winners via the contact information submitted on their applications.
