Zakiya Larry Inducted Into Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Leveraging more than two decades of excellence in communications, visibility strategies and crisis management, Ms. Larry has earned distinction as the founder and chief executive officer for Quest Media Training (Quest.) In addition to agency founder, Zakiya is also the author of "Master The Media: The Step-By-Step Guide To Elevating Your Brand On Air, On Camera, And On Stage." Since 2011, Quest has provided innovative methods of interview preparedness, crisis communications, strategic messaging, and public relations consulting.

Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Ms. Larry mentors a student organization at Howard University that focuses on film and storytelling. She is also involved with multiple volunteer organizations and is a member of the Rockwell AME Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Before her present role, Ms. Larry began her career as a news reporter, producer and assistant editor in Houston, TX, Austin, TX and Los Angeles, CA. Those experiences included: on air reporter and news producer at The Choice 90.9 FM in 2002, assistant producer and guest management duties at the Tavis Smiley Show from PRI in 2005 and associate producer, filed producer and assignments editor for then CBS 42 News KEYE in 2006. Following this time in news, she transitioned into marketing as the marketing and public information specialist for the City of Austin in 2008, followed by becoming the state public affairs communications director for the March of Dimes in 2009. Zakiya continued her career as the director of media relations for T.D. Jakes Ministries in 2011, then grew Quest and the team into a fulltime operation, supporting PR strategy and media training services for Fortune 500 brands and teams across the country, from 2011 through present day. In 2022, Zakiya leveraged her agency and entrepreneur experience to fast-track her journey to the c-suite and became the global chief communications officer for Constellation/@72andSunny, a collection of agencies within Stagwell, a publicly traded company. She was the first Millennial and woman of color in that role at the global helm.

Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Larry was a guest speaker for the East Room at the White House in 2003 in honor of Proc. 7642, which established Martin Luther King, Jr. Day a federal holiday. The same year, she won first place in the International Parliamentary Debate in Italy for the 12th Annual International Forensics Championship. Additionally, she won Miss Central Texas USA in 2008 and received a Silver Quill Award for a Print Ad Series from The International Association of Business Communicators in 2009. She also won Miss Black Texas USA from the Miss Black USA Scholarship Organization in 2010, won the Best of Texas Silver Level for Best Media Kit from the Texas Public Relations Association in 2009 and received a Hermes Creative Award for Best Media Placement in 2013. Most recently, she was named on the 2023 Power 50 Under 40 list by the United States Black Chambers, Inc., among other many other honors.

To prepare for her professional journey, Ms. Larry earned an honors Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from Texas Southern University in 2006. She is also a valued member of civic and professional organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the National Association of Black Journalists and The BOW Collective.

In 2024, Ms. Larry intends to expand her company into a strategy-first consulting enterprise that caters to ambitious leaders and brands with purpose. Zakiya is a native of Memphis, TN, and has established bases in Dallas, TX, and Charlotte, NC. She also plans to one day host a national television talk show. In her personal life, she is known as Zakiya Larry Wolfe, and is married to Dr. Brandon L. Wolfe, her life's purpose partner.
