A skilled emergency medicine professional, Dr. Fuscardo has earned distinction as an emergency room physician with Team Health, LLP. Since 2015, she has focused her efforts on guiding the flow of the emergency department, seeing all patients who come to the emergency room overnight. She also facilitates the transfer of patients to other hospitals and assists with scheduling, coverage of shifts, administrative work, and meetings regarding quality improvements. She has also served as Assistant Medical Director of the department.
Among her professional accomplishments, Dr. Fuscardo was named Intern of the Year in 2012 by the Ohio Valley Medical Center's Director of Graduate Medical Education. She is also a valued member of the American Osteopathic Association, serves as medical director for the WVNCC Paramedic program, and recently started an end of life care committee to better serve those that are in need of palliative care in the hospital.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Fuscardo earned a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Marshall University in 2007. Following this achievement, she attained a Doctor of Osteopathy from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011. Eminently qualified in her field, she is a licensed medical practitioner with the West Virginia Board of Osteopathic Medicine and is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.
Within the coming years, Dr. Fuscardo intends to continue her work in the emergency department, caring for those in her community, and building a legacy of service while working alongside her father, who has served in the emergency department at Weirton Medical Center for over 35 years. She also hopes to establish her own family urgent care center one day. She takes patient care very seriously and prioritizes putting them at ease quickly while efficiently obtaining information to provide them the best treatment.
Outside of her work, Dr. Fuscardo is happily married with three beautiful children and enjoys being a wife and mom at home. She is also proud to have started a community-based women and mother's support group, called Momance, in June 2023.
