NICKERSON, NE, February 16, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kathleen Drawbridge has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Drawbridge has been the president and founder of The Old Poor Farm Animal Sanctuary and Historical Site, a nonprofit organization in Elkhorn River Valley in Nickerson, Nebraska, since 2001. Devoted to helping preserve her farm and its rich history while continually expanding operations, it serves as a sanctuary for disabled and handicapped animals, catering to those who are deemed unadoptable due to disabilities caused by abuse or neglect.

To support her mission, Ms. Drawbridge offers admission to the public five days per week from May through October, during which visitors can explore the land and give back. Located on the Dodge County Poor Farm historical site, one of the earliest welfare systems in the country, and in operation for over six decades, it has notably served over 400 indigent individuals in years past.

In support of her community and business endeavors, Ms. Drawbridge is an active member of her local chamber of commerce. She also supports a volunteer drug rehabilitation program, a local drug court system, animal rescue organizations, and historical societies.

Ms. Drawbridge firmly believes that every individual has the potential to make a positive impact on the world, regardless of their upbringing or financial status. She encourages people to follow their aspirations and remain committed to their beliefs, as this can help them achieve their goals and contribute to society.

Ms. Drawbridge's achievements, she notes, are the result of her commitment, perseverance, and belief in the meaningfulness of her work. She draws tremendous satisfaction in her effort to save the lives of animals and enable them to live the full and healthy lives they deserve.
