Mr. Berry is a respected consultant and the owner of Philip Berry Associates LLC, specializing in executive coaching, organizational development, and leadership training. Focusing on an array of topics, such as talent development, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), and, among other issues, team transformation, he is passionate about his work and his ability to create lasting change for his clients.

Recognized for his former leadership, Mr. Berry led a prolific career with several well-known organizations. Before launching his consulting firm, he was the chief human resources officer at the Clinton Foundation, where he garnered insight into the nonprofit sector and the fundamentals of improving a community. He was also employed by Colgate Palmolive from 1990 to 2008, beginning as an associate director for organizational planning and climbing the ranks to vice president of global workplace initiatives and corporate officer. Based internationally in Paris during his tenure, Mr. Berry worked in over 60 different countries, including Eastern Europe, Russia, Africa, and Central America. He also played a critical role in establishing its DE&I program before resigning.

Among other roles, Mr. Berry worked for the Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority, Digital Equipment Corporation, Proctor & Gamble, and IBM between 1968 and 1990. His extensive corporate experience now enables him to thoroughly understand how corporations work while helping them develop new leadership skills required for improvement.

Mr. Berry became a published author for the first time in 2010 after releasing "Being Better Than You Believe: 8 Steps to Ultimate Success." The book guides organizations and individuals to achieve greater productivity, satisfaction, and success. Moreover, Mr. Berry has contributed numerous professional articles on various pressing workplace topics, such as managing cultural differences, effective leadership, and unconscious bias.

Civically invested, Mr. Berry has led numerous boards and other groups. He has been affiliated with the Asia Society Diversity and Leadership Development Council and the Association of ERGs and Diversity Councils, served as the Vice Chair of the City University of New York Board of Trustees and acting chair of the Board of Trustees for the City University of New York Construction Fund since 2010, and the board of trustees of the Louis Armstrong House Museum since 2020. Additionally, Mr. Berry has been active on the advisory board of G2Experience for Global Growth since 2013 and as a member of the senior advisory council of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources since 2017.

Highly educated, Mr. Berry holds an Associate of Arts in marketing from the Borough of Manhattan Community College since 1971, a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Queens College since 1973, a Master of Science in behavior science, social work, and organization and administrational development from Columbia University in 1975, and a Master of Business Administration in marketing and management from Xavier University since 1983. Furthermore, he garnered several designations, including in blue ocean strategy and cross-cultural competency leadership, as a minority supplier, and leadership effectiveness assessment and individual development.

Mr. Berry is a professional member of the American Society for Training and Development and the African American Human Resources Association. In light of his success, he has been honored to receive an Outstanding Community Development Award from the State of New York.
