SANTA MONICA, CA, February 19, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Archie L. Green, II has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A pioneer in the field of mental health for Black men, Mr. Green has earned distinction as the manager of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Male Mental Health with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Having joined NAMI of Greater Cleveland in 2021 as a support and education coordinator, since 2023 he has focused his efforts on promoting mental health awareness for all, with specific projects breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the BIPOC community and beyond. He has participated in community work, events and panel discussions, developing support groups and educational programs for communities of color and faith-based groups. He also initiated the first-ever African American support group called the "Lean On Me: Collective Support Group", which is still running in its third year.

Outside of his work with NAMI, he has been a skilled independent Hip-Hop musician and artist since 1998 and is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Peel Dem Layers Back, a mental health advocacy nonprofit that aims to educate, empower and equip Black men and boys with the tools to live a mentally healthy life. Since its founding in 2016, the nonprofit has gained national acclaim for its innovative approach to promoting mental health awareness to Black men and boys through hip-hop culture. A renaissance man in his own right, Archie is also the Founder and Chief Creative Producer for Culture Junkie Edutainment, LLC, an event marketing and project management firm focused on celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion in the fields of entertainment, sports, arts and culture and education. He established this company in 2019 to curate special events for clients who want to give diverse audiences unique and state-of-the-art experiences while providing opportunities for artists and small businesses to gain exposure. Notably, they were able to successfully partner with MARTK'D: Art on Sneakers to produce and host a citywide sneaker art competition at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for the Cleveland Cavaliers and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They also successfully project managed the NBA All-Star 2022 basketball court redesign projects for Hoop Bus in partnership with the City of Cleveland, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Terry Rozier Foundation.

To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Green studied economics at Ohio Wesleyan University from 2004 until 2006 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in the discipline from Morehouse College in 2008. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Arts in music business from the New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development in 2013. Eminently qualified in his field, he is certified in mental health first aid.

Prior to his present role, Mr. Green began his professional career as a consumer banker with PNC in 2008 and became a marketing assistant intern for Audible Treats in 2012 to kick off his involvement in music. The same year, he underwent an internship with Red Bull Records and was a studio manager intern for SLUMBOlabs Studio in 2013, taking a role as a sales professional for Nordstrom in 2013. The following year, he was promoted to a service experience specialist and subsequently worked as a universal banker for PNC Bank in 2014. In 2017, he took a role as a community engagement and programs manager for moCa Cleveland creating a series of events focused on arts and culture with high-profile visual artists such as Hank Willis Thomas and Rashid Johnson. While at moCa Cleveland, Green also developed an event series, eCLEctic, which focused on highlighting Black-owned small business and leaders in the intersection of hip-hop and pop culture. eCLEctic's most popular event featured a panel discussion, and live performance of Cleveland's own Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony. He also was a board member for the Brite Winter Festival, an annual outdoor music festival in Downtown Cleveland taking place every February, from 2018 until 2021.

Looking to the future, Mr. Green aims to be more involved with charity work and giving back while continuing to grow Culture Junkie Edutainment, LLC. He has utilized a unique approach throughout his career by employing hip-hop as a tool to use his story of living with depression and overcoming suicidal thoughts to help save others. After starting therapy and learning about his diagnosis, he was able to rediscover his true self by peeling back the layers of who he was becoming and was compelled to share this journey with other men who were experiencing a similar struggle.
