Ms. FitzGerald-Wilks is an interior designer and entrepreneur who has enjoyed more than 20 years of success creating usable, comfortable spaces for residential and commercial clients. Naturally creative and inspired by her parents' antiques collection, Ms. FitzGerald-Wilks studied at the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science in textile science with a minor in economics. She began her career working in the Garment Center in the 1980s, and by 1987, she had joined the United States Department of Commerce as an international trade specialist.
In 1993, Ms. FitzGerald-Wilks stepped down from her role at the United States Department of Commerce to focus on other ventures and spend time with her growing family. Timeless Design by Kate FitzGerald-Wilks was established in 2004 in response to frequent concerns that Ms. FitzGerald-Wilks heard from the professional women around her about the difficulties of creating functional and stylish homes that suited their needs as working parents. As the company owner and primary designer, Ms. FitzGerald-Wilks brings her background in textiles to clients seeking creative solutions for their primary and secondary residences, commercial and office spaces, and kitchens. With a team of four employees and a fleet of two custom vans, Timeless Design by Kate FitzGerald-Wilks handles all services in-house, including custom kitchen and bathroom design and cabinetry.
Ms. FitzGerald-Wilks credits her success to her ability to assemble and lead strong teams and develop streamlined workflows. She is proud to have maintained strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and her team of project managers, and considers them integral to her business' growth and clients' happiness.
