Kimberly Elaine Adams has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

    LAWRENCEVILLE, GA, February 20, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kimberly Elaine Adams has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With more than three decades of excellence in service for the United States government as a public health professional and military veteran, Ms. Adams has earned distinction as the Deputy Country Director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Eswatini, Africa. Having been a public health advisor (PHA) for the Centers for Disease Control, Center for Global Health (CGH), since 2007, she has focused on overseeing management and operations for the CDC in the country since 2022. She manages cooperative agreements and contracts for implementation of prevention, treatment, and care for patients with HIV, which is funded through the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. As part of this work, she is responsible for managing and operating budgets of all technical areas of interest, including HIV and tuberculosis prevention, care and treatment, strategic information, epidemiologic surveillance, health economics, and capacity development.

Likewise dedicated to civil advocacy, Ms. Adams volunteers for the Selulasandla Children's Village in Mbabane, Eswatini, where she provides food, sponsors holiday parties, and periodically treats the children to their favorite meal. She has undertaken several renovation projects for the orphanage, covering the repair costs with her funds and donations from friends and affiliates with projects totaling more than $30,000. Additionally, she authored the book "after the rip," which aims to help those navigating through the trauma of divorce. Kimberly is a certified life coach with Be Transformed Coaching headquartered in Atlanta, GA and an ordained minister.

Before starting her career as a public servant, Ms. Adams served honorably in the United States Army for six years, including working as a clerk typist and training as a stenography and executive administrative assistant at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. In recognition of her dedicated service, she was honored with a Meritorious Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. She concluded her active service with an honorable discharge in 1988 and served in the United States Army Reserves until 1991.

Ms. Adams began her career at CDC in 2000 as a program operations assistant and was promoted to a statistical program assistant, administrative officer, global management and extramural and procurement specialist, and public health advisor during her tenure. She was also a senior public health advisor and team lead for the Southern Africa Regional Team for two years and engaged in extended temporary duty travel to over 40 countries spanning the globe for 14 years. Ms. Adams has received numerous awards throughout her career with CDC. While developing her professional journey, Ms. Adams graduated from Gaston College in 1990 and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Shorter College in 2005. She continues her college studies as a lifetime learner.

Looking to the future, Ms. Adams intends to fulfill her obligation to the CDC in Africa and build capacity for the children's village to become self-sustaining, enabling it to continue to educate and care for children even after she leaves.
