Mr. Scott is recognized as an award-winning novelist and the principal of Destiny Publishing LLC. Based in Florida, his debut book, "Driving Toward Destiny: A Novel" was selected as a 2022 Finalist for the National Indie Excellence Awards, a 2023 Finalist for the Readers' Favorite International Book Awards and a 2023 Finalist for the American Fiction Awards, all in the fiction/adventure genre. Mr. Scott just completed his second novel, which has a working title of "Uncharted Destiny." He credits his newfound success as a writer to his education and longtime passion for the art.
Before pivoting into entrepreneurship and writing, Mr. Scott worked in the corporate sector for 20 years before transitioning to the public sector. He notably succeeded in the global insurance brokerage business with Johnson & Higgins (now Marsh). He continued his work for the newly formed organization at its corporate headquarters in New York, having insured many of the large banks in Boston with Johnson & Higgins. Mr. Scott also worked for IBM as a management consultant for insurance companies in Somers, New York, was the owner of Strategic Consulting LLC in Ridgefield, Connecticut, advising small business owners about marketing plans, and was a compliance officer for the U.S. Department of Labor from 2010 until 2018.
Looking toward future success in publishing, Mr. Scott envisions expanding on his characters and having one of his books turned into a Netflix or Hulu series.
Mr. Scott enjoys giving back to local causes and events in his spare time. He most notably supports the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra due to his fondness for classical music.
Born in New York City, Mr. Scott received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Vermont in 1971, a Master of Arts in English language and literature/letters from Northeastern University in 1976, and a Master of Business Administration from the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1983. Becoming highly qualified in his industry, he received credentials as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter through the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters Inc. in 1980.
