Marquis Who's Who Honors Jake J. Jones for Success in Executive Leadership, Consulting in Nonprofit Sectors, and Community Service

He was recognized by the United Way of Gloucester County as a Nonprofit Executive Leader of Color during Black History Month in 2021.

    DEPTFORD, NJ, March 07, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jake J. Jones has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Leading a diverse, rewarding career, Mr. Jones splits his time between serving and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (l/DD) as a nonprofit executive, and real estate development, business consulting, Board service, and community engagement/outreach in collaboration with both State and Federal law enforcement sectors. He is also the Founder of two companies, Capital B Consulting Solutions, LLC, and Aggregates for Community Equity and Development, LLC. Both entities serve to help businesses and communities prosper, especially in the non­profit sectors. Additionally, Mr. Jones serves as Master Trainer of verbal intervention, non-aversive personal control and defensive techniques designed for the human services sector in New Jersey; serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). As well, he is currently an appointed trainer for the New Jersey Department of Justice/Attorney General's Office for the Community Law Enforcement Affirmative Relations program (C.L.E.A.R.). In this capacity, Jake trains law enforcement officers throughout New Jersey on de-escalation and awareness in the I/DD and mental health sectors. ln another capacity, Jake serves on the Board of the FBI Newark Citizens Academy Alumni Association as Director of Diversity and Inclusion. He volunteers his time to help in these areas which amplifies his strong belief in community engagement. His volunteer service was recently acknowledged by AmeriCorps as Mr. Jones was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award for his committed service to the community and his country.

Mr. Jones has garnered extensive success leading organizations in the human services sector; serving individuals with I/DD. With ADEPT Programs, he leads a team dedicated to supporting the needs of individuals with I/DD providing them with residential environments and the wrap-around supports needed so the individuals can thrive. Under his leadership, the organization is expanding/growing and developing new communities with an accessibility-first model/framework.

Founded in Mount Holly, New Jersey, in 1978, ADEPT Programs began to take shape, adding its first supervised apartment in 1982. As the third executive to lead the nonprofit, Mr. Jones has made significant improvements and is guiding the organization to reach milestones that will increase impact. He has infused a fresh perspective into the culture of the organization that articulates a vision of "redefining what GOOD looks like," which embraces challenging norms, and pushes the limits, which Mr. Jones believes is necessary to better serve the mission of ADEPT. ADEPT values innovation, amplifying its impact, and working collaboratively in partnership.

During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Jones was a musician. After having a family, he entered the military, honorably serving his country in the U.S. Army from 1992 to 2001.

As a dedicated member of his community, Mr. Jones also serves on Boards with numerous local and national organizations. He serves as Board Chair for FamCare,Inc., and on the Board of Trustees for Better Tomorrows. He is also an Advisory Board member at Kibu.

Highly educated, Mr. Jones holds an Associate of Science in Music Performance from Mercer County Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Africology and Elementary Education from Rutgers University, and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Rutgers University. He also received various professional designations, including certification as an American with Disabilities Act Advocate (CADAA) through John Jay College of Criminal Justice/City University of New York (CUNY), Certification in Innovative ways to address Disability and Diversity in the postsecondary classroom through the University of Hawaii at Manoa/Center on Disability Studies, and is a Certified Master Trainer of Crisis Management through Kevin Walsh Consulting LLC.

Additionally, Mr. Jones was a Leadership Award recipient of the New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP) in 2016. He was also highlighted with a Veteran Alumni Profile in Rutgers Magazine in 2020, named a Top Chief Executive Officer in South Jersey Biz Magazine in 2021, and recognized by the United Way of Gloucester County as a Nonprofit Executive Leader of Color during Black History Month in 2021.
