Dr. Paik is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist on Faculty at UC Davis Health, where she has dedicated over two decades to advancing women's health. Academic accomplishments, clinical training and a passion for serving others have proven foundational to Dr. Paik's success. She finished a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology-Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992 and subsequently pursued an MD at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, which she completed in 1997. Dr. Paik proudly earned an Internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the University of California, Davis Medical Center in 1997 before further refining her special expertise through a residency at the same institution from 1998 to 2001.
In recognition of her exceptional contributions to medical education and patient care, Dr. Paik has received several prestigious awards including the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology National Teaching Award in both 2005 and 2013. Furthermore, Dr. Paik was honored with the Dean's Award for Excellence in Mentoring from UC Davis, which she counts as one of her most notable achievements thus far.
Civic service remains a priority for Dr. Paik, and she humbly volunteers with the Free Clinic in Sacramento and treats female patients held in the Sacramento County Jail. She also was appointed to the rank of Health Sciences Clinical Professor and currently serves as the Co-Director of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology and Vice-Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Paik seeks balance through a fulfilling personal life and diverse interests. Her husband is a Trauma Surgeon and Professor at UC Davis Health, and she is a proud mother to one daughter. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. Dr. Paik is also committed to fostering leadership among women within her institution and beyond and mentors other women as they aspire to leadership and administrative roles. Moreover, Dr. Paik plans to continue to educate future doctors who will provide high-quality care within their communities.
