Marquis Who's Who Honors Tyrone J. Montgomery as a Civic and Community Leader

As a dedicated civic leader, Mr. Montgomery is recognized as a national grand master with the National Grand Lodge, a position he has held since 2021.

    MESA, AZ, March 19, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tyrone Montgomery has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. The Most Worshipful National Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Ancient York Rite Masons, Prince Hall Origin, National Compact, U.S.A. was established June 23, 1847 in Boston Massachusetts, it is a direct descendant of Prince Hall Grand Lodge/African Lodge 459. In Boston Massachusetts, Prince Hall and 15 others were made masons in March 1775. Their 1784 warrant from The Grand Lodge of England (currently UGLE) arrived after the war of Independence with England. 63 years later in 1847 John T. Hilton and others created the National Grand Lodge/National Compact to further spread "Negro Freemasonry." That is 177 years of existence for The National Grand Lodge itself, from 1784 through 2024 is 240 years of continued Black Freemason existence in the United States of America. The National Grand Lodge is the oldest black Freemason organization in the United States.

Tyrone J. Montgomery Sr. is the 24th National Grand Master, Freemasonry is fundamentally a self- improvement, volunteer association that teaches moral, intellectual, and spiritual lessons through one's faith. Freemasonry tenets are brotherhood, relief and truth.

As the National Grand Master he is responsible for the financial stability, growth and continued existence of the National Grand Lodge. They are known for their scholarships, supporting national programs, and state and local community work.

As a dedicated civic leader, Mr. Montgomery is recognized as a national grand master with the National Grand Lodge, a position he has held since 2021. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing a network of 20 grand lodges around the world, including 15 within the U.S. and its territories and international lodges located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the Bahamas, Congo Brazzaville, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sweden, and the Philippines. Mr. Montgomery's leadership involves collaborating with state leaders to foster growth and direction within their areas, setting protocols, and issuing edicts in accordance with the organization's constitution and by-laws.

Looking ahead, he aspires to expand the National Grand Lodge's presence to at least 35 states within the U.S. and continue its growth overseas. Among other involvements, Mr. Montgomery has been a member of Freemasonry since 1996. Moreover, he is one of 15 to co-found the Universal Masonic Confederation in 2024, whose mission is to bring together, through the Masonic obediences, organizations, and powers that constitute it, men who wish to practice active charity and develop a worldwide chain of solidarity between all masons.

Born in Chicago, Mr. Montgomery graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business, cum laude, from Franklin University in Columbus in 2005. He also received lean six sigma certification as a blue belt. In 1982, during his college years he joined Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, at The Ohio State University. Phi beta Sigma is also a very civic minded organization. He remains a Phi Beta Sigma Graduate Chapter member of Rho Chi Sigma Chapter in Westerville Ohio.

Mr. Montgomery's academic achievements have played a significant role in his professional development, particularly his dedication to hard work and effective communication skills, which he deems essential for leadership.

In light of his professional success, Mr. Montgomery received the prestigious title of Region of the Year three times, earning rewards in the form of monetary incentives and travel opportunities between 1999 and 2005 during his tenure as a territory manager at Sweetheart Cup Company. He was also inducted into the Who's Who in Columbus for his contributions as a bank manager at US Bank. Mr. Montgomery also received has received various accolades for his exemplary contributions to the Masonic community.
