Prior to stepping into this position at Momentive, Dr. Siclovan served as the company's Global Technology Leader for two of its segments from 2017 to 2022. In his role, he continues to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering advanced technology and commercial products that position Momentive Performance Materials as a leader in sustainable technologies.

His professional leadership encompasses numerous science and technology projects across various domains, including specialty materials, medical diagnostics and devices, life sciences, polymer chemistry, functional imaging and optical imaging technologies. Within his field, he is known for his clear thinking, focus on customer needs, and prioritization of learning and has earned a strong and respected reputation among his peers and companies alike.

Leading up to his time at Momentive, Dr. Siclovan made noteworthy contributions working at General Electric (GE) Global Research Center as a senior scientist from 2002 to 2017 and earlier as a staff chemist from 1996 to 2002. Dr. Siclovan is the lead inventor of the first self-renewing weatherable polymer (Solex, then Lexan SLX) a high volume weatherable thermoplastic material. While working on GE Healthcare projects, he was the lead inventor of the first intraoperative nerve imaging dye, an intellectual property portfolio that has since helped surgeons see the anatomy clearly during laparoscopic surgeries. For his work at GE, Dr. Siclovan was honored with both the Whitney Award and the Dushman Award, achievements that reflect not only his dedication to scientific advancement but also his commitment to enhancing industry practices through groundbreaking research and development.

Along with his professional experience, Dr. Siclovan's academic studies and research pursuits laid the groundwork for his success in his field. Before moving to the United States in 1992, he earned the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Timisoara in 1986 and honed his skill set working as a research engineer from 1986 to 1989 and then as a research associate from 1989 to 1992 at the university. After immigrating to the U.S., he attended Iowa State University, where he continued to focus on research and received a doctorate in organic chemistry in 1996.

Throughout his educational and career journey, Dr. Siclovan has been praised for achieving an exceptional level of expertise as an experienced scientist with professional leadership in many areas of chemistry. Throughout his career, he has authored 10 publications, 2 conference communications and obtained 34 patents as referenced by SciFinder; he has maintained his membership with the American Chemical Society. As he approaches retirement, Dr. Siclovan plans to remain active within his current company and potentially expand his offerings to work as a consultant. He looks forward to retiring in South Carolina and holds aspirations of connecting with Clemson University to impart his knowledge as an experienced professional to students aspiring to become industrial scientists.
