An active participant in ministry, Dr. Gbotoe founded and has served as bishop for Kingdom Harvest Ministries Inc. since 1998. The nonprofit partners with churches, schools, and communities to build up youth to follow the example of Jesus. Dr. Gbotoe was inspired to begin this ministry out of a desire to build churches, and to ensure that every community has access to a church, a school, and a health center.
Dr. Gbotoe's passion for education and leadership development is further reflected in his academic contributions as a faculty member at several prestigious institutions, including Concordia University-Portland, Portland Community College, and North Portland Bible College. Dr. Gbotoe is also an active member of several organizations, including the Oregon Association for Liberia and Global United Fellowship, where he continues to contribute to discussions on leadership and community development.
Though he initially aspired to become a physicist, Dr. Gbotoe eventually resolved to focus on theological studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts in his native Liberia in 1996. Following this accomplishment, he went on to attend the University of Phoenix, from which he received a Master of Arts in organizational management and a doctorate in organizational leadership in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Dr. Gbotoe subsequently earned a Doctor of Education, with an emphasis on transformational leadership, at Concordia University in 2020.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Gbotoe leads a fulfilling personal life marked by his deep-rooted values and interests. He enjoys reading and playing guitar during his leisure time alongside working on his two upcoming books. Dr. Gbotoe attributes his success across multiple fields to his passion for helping others, which is firmly rooted in the values instilled by his parents since childhood.
