Dr. Schaper has served as a staff member of the church for 50 years, a testament to his dedication to his community and faith in God.
Before establishing himself professionally, Dr. Schaper earned a bachelor's degree in education from Northern Illinois University in 1959. Subsequently, he expanded his knowledge, completing a Master of Divinity through the United Theological Seminary and a PhD from Pacific Western University. Driven to remain abreast of industry changes, Dr. Schaper aligned himself with several organizations, including the International Transactional Analysis Association, and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
Dr. Schaper was recognized with a Mayoral Proclamation and the Key to the City of Crystal Lake in 2023 in honor of his service to the church, the city, and the country. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in writing his autobiography, several articles in professional magazines, and a paper on quantum theology. Likewise, he established a counseling center through which he could provide service to indigent and low-income populations. Within the coming years, Dr. Schaper intends to enjoy his retirement and devote himself to his church.
