Over the years, Ms. Riess has had various roles including as the owner and director of Public Health & Food Safety Services, LLC, and as a food science, human nutrition, and food safety instructor at Colorado State University. Ms. Riess also was the proud owner, of Monet's Morning Coffee, LLC, where she hones her skills in business management and accounting. During the early stages of her career, she was a project accountant at Universal Studios Hollywood, Walt Disney Imagineering and worked as a public health specialist for Larimer County. Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, she has also contributed to the publication, "Investigating transmission of SARS-CoV-2 using novel face mask sampling: A protocol for an observational prospective study of index cases and their contacts in a congregate setting."
An expert in her field, Ms. Riess holds an associate degree in liberal arts from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor of Environmental Health from Colorado State University. Subsequently, she expanded her professional knowledge, completing a Master of Public Health at the University of Northern Colorado, several National Environmental Health Association certifications, and environmental hygiene and infection prevention certifications through the Arizona Nurses Association's ICT Institute.
