Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Teague has made a significant mark in the nonprofit sector as the chief executive officer and founder of Putnam Service Dogs. She grew it into a large, successful gallery in 12 years before selling it to move to New York City. She studied jazz piano at a music school in Brooklyn, then worked as a salesman for a major piano rebuilder near Carnegie Hall. Adopting a 12 year old Brooklyn foster child as a single mom, she began selling residential real estate in New York City to increase her earnings.

Ms. Teague earned two degrees from the University of Michigan with distinction, which laid the groundwork for her diverse career. She graduated with distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration degrees.

From 2007 to 2011, she was a Dog Handler Volunteer for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in New York City. She volunteered weekly at offsite adoption events.

Her fascination with service dog training, and service dog schools began in 2010. From 2010 to 2013 she fostered a brood dog, raised two puppies, and was an early puppy socializer for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. She immersed herself in learning and contributing to the cause. From 2013 to 2016, she was a Board Member of the NE Regional Center of Canine Companions for Independence. She was also auction chair, and then gala chair for their Hearts & Heros Gala.

In her personal life, Ms. Teague is a devoted mother to one son and harbors ambitious plans for Putnam Service Dogs. She is committed to expanding the organization with a larger center within the next five years. She is preparing the organization to hire a paid CEO to continue the work she has passionately carried out on a volunteer basis. This goal reflects Ms. Teague's desire to make an even greater impact on the community by strengthening the longevity and impact provided to individuals in need through Putnam Service Dogs.
