Coach Larsen serves as the Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) women's head basketball coach and fitness center director, a role he has held since 2022, and his responsibilities span a wide range. Coach Larsen works tirelessly preparing for practices and games, analyzing opponents through film study, recruiting future student athletes, building relationships with coaches, and overseeing the fitness center facilities. Coach Larsen's expertise in women's basketball is well-regarded and marks him as a distinguished professional in his field. Critical to his success, Coach Larsen received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Phoeneix in 2012 and a Master of Science in recreation and sport sciences from Ohio University in 2018.
Prior to accepting his current position at EWC, Coach made significant contributions as an assistant coach at Tucson Arizona's Pima Community College. His involvement was pivotal in player development and in supporting the team on the journey to an eight-place finish at the NJCAA national tournament, all while overcoming the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. This achievement was particularly notable given the difficulties of practicing and playing safely during such an unprecedented global health crisis.

This includes recruiting international players from Israel, Spain, and Brazil, alongside domestic talent from across the U.S., all while advocating for community and financial support for each player as they transition to their new homes. Under his guidance, the team improved their win total significantly and excelled academically, with several players being named academic all-Americans.
Coach Larsen is a man of unwavering dedication and his commitment to excellence extends beyond the basketball court. He is an active member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, where he engages with peers across the U.S. to share knowledge and best practices in coaching. His involvement in this organization also underscores his focus on continued professional development and contributing to the broader coaching community. Outside his professional endeavors, Mr. Larsen is deeply committed to civic engagement through his involvement with organizations such as the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Coach Larsen attributes much of his success to the support and mentorship he has received throughout his career, and while some guidance was offered, much was sought out by Larsen himself. He notes the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences, starting from his early days when he received his first coaching opportunity at the high school level, to later advancements in his career facilitated by various mentors. Coach Larsen's wife's role as a volunteer assistant coach, and the addition of a talented assistant coach for the '23-'24 season, has also been instrumental in achieving team success.
Looking ahead, Mr. Larsen aspires to continue his focus on enhancing EWC's winning program while inspiring high academic standards to put these athletes on track to bigger and better things. He is always seeking opportunities for personal growth within his coaching career, hoping one day to participate in NCAA March Madness.
