Over the years, Dr. John has honed his expertise as a senior economist, lead data scientist, and forecaster for Power System Engineering, Inc., through which he led the economic, research and forecasting group, conducted forecast models, and testified in rate cases on matters involving public utility companies. During the early stages of his career, he gained valuable insights into quantitative modeling, economics, education, and more through various roles with Citibank, Lakeland University, Alliant Credit Union, Valdosta State University, and Integrys Energy Group. Throughout his career, Dr. John has taught many industry-related courses, managed research and junior staff, and more.
An expert in his field, Dr. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics and mass communication from Rhode Island College, a Master of Arts in business and managerial economics from the University of Central Missouri, and a PhD in economics from Kansas State University. Subsequently, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing a data science and data engineering certification, becoming licensed in accident and health insurance in Wisconsin, and receiving a leadership certification through McKenzie.
Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Dr. John aligns himself with the National Association of Business Economists and the International Association in Economics and Commerce. In conjunction with his work, he also contributes to his community through the Boy Scouts, the Breast Cancer Family Foundation, The Salvation Army, St. Jude Children's Hospital, and the Christian Outreach Ministry.
In light of his professional achievements, Dr. John has won numerous awards from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his humble beginnings and faith in God. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to desire to learn and his perseverance.
