Carol O'Dell, author of Mothering Mother: A Daughter's Humorous and Heartbreaking Memoir will present to Florida's Elder Law Attorneys July 19, 2008, in Sarasota, Florida. O'Dell will discuss the challenges and frustrations and joys of family caregiving.

O'Dell, author of Mothering Mother: A Daughter's Humorous and Heartbreaking Memoir will speak to the Elder Law Attorneys at the Elder Law Section Retreat on July 19, 2008 in Sarasota, Florida. Carol O'Dell will speak at 12:00 noon at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater, Florida. O'Dell will share her story of the challenges, frustrations and joys that family caregivers face today.

O'Dell cared for her mother who suffered from Parkinson's and Alzheimer's for 15 years; the last three years were spent in O'Dell's home, while she raise three teens. Her sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant story offers candid insights to the physical and emotional rollercoaster families endure. She will also discuss how to reach families during times of crisis and how difficult diseases such as Alzheimer's impacts the community.
