Atlanta-based Professional Group collaborates with an Interior Designer and the 'Big Give' on Go Green Home Makeover Project

    /24-7PressRelease/ - ATLANTA, GA, August 15, 2008 - The Joy of Connecting , a national women's networking group headquartered in Atlanta has joined forces with interior designer, Melody Vaughn, Owner of Harmonize Your Home, LLC and host of "Space Invasions" featuring IKEA, to help a local family in need of a home makeover to accommodate the needs of their special needs teenager. The Katz Family resides in the Morningside area of Atlanta and cares for 15 year-old Emily Katz, a quadriplegic since birth. Linda, Emily's mother, has relentlessly tried to get funding to renovate her home. She even applied for an appearance on the Extreme Home Makeover Show aired on ABC numerous times, and was unsuccessful. Sheg Aranmolate, of Oprah's "Big Give" will make a personal appearance to endorse this eco-friendly project at the home of CEO/Founder, Bonnie Ross-Parker as part of the sixth anniversary celebration on Saturday, August 16th at noon. Sheg Aranmolate, author of inspirational title iActuate, wholeheartedly supports this project and is thrilled to be part of the "Dream Team" that will make it possible for the Katz family to live functionally. When asked why this project is so endearing, he says, "This project is near and dear to me because of what it stands for. As the co-founder of the Aranmolate Foundation for Deformed Children and a young man who strives to help the less-fortunate, when I read Linda Katz's letter, I was touched and empowered by her resilience, and it further affirms the reason why the foundation exists - to be a resource to families such as The Katz's."

Bonnie Ross-Parker, excited to mark the sixth anniversary celebration with this "Go Green"project shares, "When Linda exhausted her reasonable options, she reached out to me in tears needing help to make her home more functional for her family. I was immediately touched. I just knew I had to help."

Melody Vaughn created the 24/7 Project when she had a chance encounter with a woman preparing for surgery and looking for a simple renovation solution in her bathroom that would accommodate her needs after surgery. "When I worked as a kitchen designer I met an elderly women that needed to buy a toilet. She was going into the hospital to have her leg amputated and needed to purchase a new toilet. I visited her home to get a better idea of her needs and what a surprise, she needed so much more than just a toilet. It was then I realized people were in need of healing in their homes thru functional design and thus 24/7 Project was born." she shares.

The 24/7 Project Pay it Forward is a collaborative home makeover project sponsored by The Joy of Connecting and HyH, LLC to serve the design needs of families with circumstances that prevent them from making much needed improvements to their home. The 24/7 Project: Healing Homes thru Design through HyH LLC, is an ongoing collaborative project that will award four local qualifying families per year to aid them with necessary home improvements they are unable to undertake.
