Thomas J. Bond Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

He managed BP's US fuels technology function from 1992 until his retirement in early January, 2004.



    /24-7PressRelease/ - Chardon, OH, September 19, 2008, Thomas J. Bond, Retired Vice President of Fuels Technology from BP P.L.C., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of fuel technology.

Mr. Bond specializes in the areas of transportation fuels technology and the marketing of fuels products, with experience fuel formulation, refinery processes, fuel additives, fuel performance in internal combustion engines and marketing of premium fuels.

Mr. Bond's 35-year career with BP included 20+ years in fuel technology within BP's Refining and Marketing business segments, nine years with BP Chemicals in the areas of polymer applications and international marketing/technical support and three years in BP Exploration and Production. He managed BP's US fuels technology function from 1992 until his retirement in early January, 2004. For the last five years of his career, he managed BP's Global Fuels Technology function as Technology Director and then Fuels Technology VP. This position was responsible for the performance and quality of all fuels refined and marketed by BP worldwide. This responsibility was carried out with a very strong technology team assembled from the merges of AMOCO, ARCO, ARAL and SOHIO with BP, working from three locations, Naperville, IL, Pangbourne/Sunbury, England and Bochum, Germany.

Mr. Bond's fuels technology experience includes: fuel formulation and blending, refinery process operations, fuel/additive formulation, engine/vehicle testing for fuel performance and emissions characteristics and marketing claims for conventional (gasoline, diesel, jet and marine) and alternative fuels including bio-fuels. He has also been a very active member of API and chaired the Fuels and Technology Committees. He was also an active member in ASTM, CRC and SAE. Mr. Bond was also very active on fuel regulatory issues representing BP in a number of major US EPA and State fuel regulations.
