Mario Martelli, Ph.D. Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

He was a professor of Mathematics at Claremont McKenna College from 2000 to 2008.



    /24-7PressRelease/ - Claremont, CA, September 21, 2008, Dr. Mario Martelli, Research Professor for the Mathematics Department at Claremont Graduate University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of academic research.

With 42 years of professional experience in the mathematics field, Dr. Martelli is an expert in discrete and continuous dynamical systems and chaos theory. In his current position at Claremont Graduate University, he is responsible for conducting research and preparing paperwork on global asymptotic stability. The chaotic librations of Hyperion, a satellite of the planet Saturn, are the subject of a paper he recently authored. Previously, he was a professor of Mathematics at Claremont McKenna College from 2000 to 2008. Dr. Martelli became involved in his profession because of his interest in mathematics and attributes his success to his hard work.

Dr. Martelli is the recipient of several awards for his academic contributions, including the Outstanding Professor Award from California State University, Fullerton, the Distinguished Teacher Award from the Southern California Section of the Mathematical Association of America and the Service Award from the Mathematical Association of America. He received his Ph.D. in Differential Equations from the University of Florence in 1966 and is a member of the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America and the Italian Mathematical Union. Also a supporter of Lyons Club International, he aspires to conduct research on discrete and continuous dynamical systems.
