Cambridge Who's Who Names James F. Steighner Professional of the Year in Financial Services

With 32 years of professional experience, Mr. Steighner specializes in accounting, financial analysis and fraud investigation

WASHINGTON, DC, October 17, 2008 James F. Steighner, Retired Deputy Director of Internal Review from the United States Navy, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Financial Services. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

With 32 years of professional experience, Mr. Steighner specializes in accounting, financial analysis and fraud investigation. He is responsible for organizing programs and reviewing financial records. He served as a medical analyst for 14 years and as a deputy director for 12 years at the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. He considers recommending a program to eliminate smoking in the Navy to be his greatest professional accomplishment. He became involved in his profession because of his interest in accounting and accountability.

Mr. Steighner holds a Master of Arts in Business and Supervision from Central Michigan University and also completed the Federal Bureau of Investigation White Collar Crime Program in Georgia. Although he is retired, Mr. Steighner stays current with the trends in his profession by attending internal training programs. Some of his achievements include receiving the Special Service Award for Outstanding Commitment, from Vice President Dick Cheney, serving as Secretary of Defense.
