Elizabeth Harington Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

Harington earned honors in painting and drawing, printmaking, and music and she brings to her endeavor a unique level of vigorous training in these fields.



    NEW YORK, NY, October 10, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Elizabeth Harington, Artist, Teacher, Musician and. award-winning Printmaker and Painter has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication leadership and excellence in the Fine-Arts.

Harington earned honors in painting and drawing, printmaking, and music and she brings to her endeavor a unique level of vigorous training in these fields. In 1976 Harington came to New York and she produced a series of prints based on the anatomical studies which won her the Nessa Cohen Award at the Art Students League and the National Belville Grafik award in South Africa in 1980. In 1983 she relocated to the States and became affiliated with the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. The first 24 Prints were shown at the Dome Gallery in New York in 1989. Recognition of this work in Art in America led to a MacDowell Fellowship in 1990 and a Pollock Krasner Award in 1991.

Harington has shown internationally in New York, Norway, Sweden, London, Spain, Poland, Germany, South Africa, Australia, Japan, Korea, Italy and Austria as well as throughout the United States. Her work is presented in many prominent collections including those at the Art Students League, New York City; Columbia University, Harvard University, the New York Public Library, Lehigh University, Christie's International Collection in West Germany, Japan and Australia; The Metropolitan Museum in New York, Stanford University, Stellenborsch University, Montclair Art Museum, Pretoria Museum, and the Math Science Research Institute in Berkeley (M.S.R.L) California, where her etching on The Art of Fugue won her the Auditorium, first Poster series Award. She also is the recipient of the Gottlieb Foundation Award in 1992 and the acclaimed final Pollock Krasner Award in 2007-2008.

Harington is one of the numerous, notable artists who trained at the League. Its roster of former teachers includes Will Barnet and Roberto DeLamonica and the League boasts Georgia O'Keefe, Jackson Pollock, Louise Nevelson and James Rosenquist as former students.
