Hunter, Chemistry Instructor at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of secondary education.

With 19 years of professional experience, 14 of which have been in her current position at the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, Dr. Hunter specializes in science education. At her most recent post, she was tasked with teaching chemistry and providing up-to-date research techniques and scientific skills to exceptional juniors and seniors. Prior to joining ASMSA, she worked as an assistant professor of biochemistry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, an assistant professor of chemistry at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and an assistant professor of biology at the University of Missouri - St Louis. Additionally, she worked as a laboratory assistant and storeroom manager at Henderson State University and an instructor of mathematics at Arkadelphia High School. Dr. Hunter spent several years conducting research on the enzymes that regulate cholesterol biosynthesis and aromatic amine acetyltransferase as a marker for colorectal cancer. Dr. Hunter furthered her research training by serving as a postdoctoral fellow at Purdue University and St. Louis University.

Dr. Hunter received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Oklahoma State University and her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in mathematics from Henderson State University. She is an avid supporter of the American Sickle Cell Anemia Association.
