6th Annual NYC Musical Saw Festival
Musical saw players from all over the world congregate in NYC every summer for some 'cutting edge' music. Concert, art exhibit and workshop - come to the 6th annual Musical Saw Festival, and say you saw it here first!

/24-7PressRelease/ - NEW YORK, NY, June 18, 2008 - See the saw players and hear the singing sounds of the saw: the 6th annual NYC Musical Saw Festival, Saturday July 5th, 2008 , at Trinity Church , 31-18 37th Street, Astoria , Queens .
The cutting edge music starts at 2:00 PM , with a concert featuring about 20 musical saw players from Mexico , Germany , Canada and all over the USA . There is also an art exhibition featuring the musical saw in paintings and a video installation.

The world's greatest saw players come out of the woodwork to join other acoustic musicians in a variety of musical performances. You'll hear classical, contemporary, folk, gospel, pop, and show tunes throughout the concert. The end of the concert features the 'Chorus of the Saws' - all the saw players playing together.

* Natalia 'Saw Lady' Paruz, founder and organizer of the annual NYC Musical Saw Festival, will present the musical saw as an ensemble instrument with participation of a handbell choir, 2 singers, a pianist and an organist.
* Nicholas Bardach of Germany will give a presentation spoofing classical music with the saw
* Rafael Cornejo of Mexico will demonstrate non-traditional saw playing
* World premier of a new piece composed by Scott R. Munson for the saw.
* Solo performances by many musical saw players
* The Chorus of the Saws - all participating saw players will play together

Many of the best saw players from around the world come to the Saw Festival (we had sawists from India , China , Canada and Japan , as well as from around the USA ) and many are returning to the Saw Festival this year.

Where: Trinity Church , 31-18 37th Street ( 37th Street at 31st Avenue ), Astoria , NY
Near by subway: 'R' train to Steinway Street, N/W train to Broadway.
Admission: $10 at the door
