New Dimension in Board Games Pops Up in Time for Holidays

Basic Concepts' revolutionary new "pop-up" platform in board games, called 3D Adventures, is now available at Toys R Us stores nationwide. The patented new board games, Haunted Ruins and Treasure of the Lost Pyramid have arrived in time for the holidays.

FAIRFIELD, CT, November 08, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Basic Concepts confirmed today that the introduction of its patented, no assembly required, pop-up craftsmanship in board games, called 3D Adventures, is now available at Toys R Us stores nationwide.

The first two titles from Basic Concepts using the multi-level board are Treasure of the Lost Pyramid (MSRP $29.99 for 2-4 players, ages 8 and up) and Haunted Ruins (MSRP $29.99, for 2-4 players, ages 6 and up), which both feature the same storyline sets of characters, The Relic Raiders.

The innovative new products have already been embraced by toy industry experts, landing on the pages of Toy Wishes Magazine's Holiday 2008 Featured Products, Redbook Magazine's Toy Insider, and top toy recommendation website www.timetoplay.com. In addition, Haunted Ruins is a winner of Dr. Toy's Best Picks of innovative new products for 2008.

Jon Meyers, President of Basic Concepts, said, "We are extremely excited to launch the new games and let everyone experience all of the new and fun elements that we have been able to incorporate into game play. Our first shipment went straight to Toys R Us stores nationwide so that everyone can get the products in time for the holidays."

Basic Concepts was granted its patent for the groundbreaking pop-up technology earlier this year and created one of the biggest breakthroughs in board game play structure without any assembly required! "Each game comes ready to play right out of the box. The set up is simply unfolding the board," Meyers said.

In addition to the multi-level board, Basic Concepts designed several moving pathways within the board game structure as an added element for players' strategy. The fastened structures can be turned and manipulated by players throughout the game in order to alter or block routes, allowing an advantage or a hindrance to other players.

The two new games, Treasure of the Lost Pyramid and Haunted Ruins, tie-in to a central story of the Relic Raiders, teams of two characters each, who travel the world collecting treasure for an evil billionaire, who is masquerading as a wealthy philanthropist. Each game comes with a comic book, and there is an interactive website to support the series.

Specifically, the object of Treasure of the Lost Pyramid is to be the first individual or team to deduce what the treasure is at the top of the Lost Pyramid. Each player's team must navigate his way around the constantly adjusting game board and avoiding the Mummy, while trying to discover the nature of each of the other treasures hidden in each of the four Pharaoh's Tombs. Once completed, each player must take his team to the top of the pyramid and correctly guess the identity of this final treasure!

In Haunted Ruins , players have to be the first individual or team to navigate his way out of the Haunted Ruins! All players begin at the same starting point, but there are four different pathways to choose. Each pathway is fraught with unique opportunity and peril, like avoiding the Zombie's path and carefully maneuvering shortcuts to try to be the first to escape.
